New Monetary Systems for a Sustainable Democracy and "The Great Turning"

Story: http://www.truth-out.org/news/item/17878-new-monetary-systems-for-a-sustainable-democracy-and-the-great-turning

"Our money system is ill-equipped to help us solve the pervasive socio-economic and ecological challenges we face. Transformation of our money system is critical because monetary diversity is just as important to human survival as biodiversity is to the fate of the earth."

** - So, why even have money? There's no reason why we can't order a functioning society based on best-practices and resource allocation done with technology. Technology allows for a continuous collaborative update of practices and procedures, and allows those updates to be rapidly disseminated out to regional and local, and even individual reference guides. It also allows for automation and easy evaluation of individual skills and training. There's no need to work everyone into the ground, we don't have enough jobs to employ everyone now. Money is an obsolete concept. - Dan
