Gartner: Internet of Things has reached hype peak
The Internet of Things has reached the height of its hype, according to Gartner.Each year the research firm puts out a Hype Cycle of emerging technologies, a sort of report card for various trends and buzzwords. This year, IoT tops the list (See chart below).Gartner believes that most emerging technologies go through a natural process in which they are triggered by some innovation, then they rise to a peak of inflated expectations. Murder suspect asks Siri where to hide a dead body
A Florida man currently on trial for murder reportedly attempted to use Siri to garner ideas about where to bury the body of his dead roommate. According to police allegations, a University of Florida student named Pedro Bravo murdered his roomate via strangulation in late September of 2012 over a dispute involving Bravo's ex- girlfriend.According to a detective working the case, Bravo subsequently fired up Siri on his iPhone and entered the following query, "I need to hide my roommate."Though Siri now responds to such queries with a "That's very funny", the software at the time actually responded with the following: What kind of place are you looking for? Nonprofit to bring Sega game console chips back to life

Microsoft to support fewer IE versions
  Microsoft has started a 17-month campaign to upgrade customers to the newest version of Internet Explorer that their operating systems will support, which should make it simpler for the company to keep the browser secure because it will have fewer versions to deal with.On Jan. 12, 2016 Microsoft will drop support for all but the current browser versions.
